Baja Mezcal Fest is a proud supporter of Corazon de Vida. Attendees to the festival will be able to directly support this deeply impactful non-profit. Corazon De Vida provides life changing support for orphaned and abandoned children in Baja California, Mexico.
Their mission is to end child abandonment by breaking the vicious cycle of poverty. They provide consistent monthly funding to each orphanage to help cover food, shelter, water, utilities, and the basic survival needs of the children. Additionally, Corazon de Vida provides funding for uniforms, supplies, graduation fees, and scholarship based funding for teens aging out of the orphanage system.
DAY 1 – MEZCAL FEST GRAND TASTING
Saturday, August 19 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm at TAHONA BAJA
The Big Event! A celebration of Mezcal with the best Chefs, Bartenders, and Mezcal Makers
On Saturday, over 25 of the best mezcal brands will be showcasing their amazing spirit alongside a Celebrity Studded line-up of international chefs from Baja, San Diego, Oaxaca, and Award-Winning Line-Up of incredible Guest Bartenders from some of the best bars in the world.
Throughout the day, you will get to meet and greet some of the best mezcaleros, sip some of the best agave spirits, and taste some unique bites prepared by our top chefs.
Event Schedule:
Saturday’s Event starts at 3 pm and goes until 9 pm.
You will roam through the mezcal booths & taste as many mezcals as you like.
Every hour, you will have the opportunity to attend our closed sessions with a different Mezcalero. Closed sessions are limited access & hosted inside the Tahona boats.
Throughout the Festival, our guest Chefs will take turns feeding your soul with their best dishes in 2-Hour long Chef Showcases.
Thru the duration of the festival, the most acclaimed bars and bartenders in the world will be shaking up spirits in cocktail showcases that will be sure to delight.
Shop for some fair-trade artisan goods at our Espiritus Maxicos pop up store or witness the artists from Oaxaca creating their magic live!

We’ll turn up the party after sunset so we can end the day with grooves and mezcal dance moves at 8pm with a Live DJ.

Make it a weekend and enjoy the limited Sunday Brunch to finish on a perfect note!
Our guest chefs will serve up traditional Mexican dishes, and our bartenders will offer you a selection of recovery cocktails. You’ll also get to mingle with some of our mezcaleros and guest chefs.
Browse through the traditional Sunday market with local products and artisanal gifts to take home, while listening to live music!

HOW TO GET THERE:
Tahona Baja is located approximately 1 hour 15 mins south of the US Mexico Border. 1 hr 15 min (60.4 miles)
via México Toll Road 1D Transpeninsular Highway.
Taking the Toll Road is the safest route. Directions can easily be followed using Google Maps or Apple Maps from San Diego to Tahona Baja.

We recommend wearing comfortable closed-toe shoes for all attendees as our terrain is uneven and sandy. August is a warm month, but our location gets a nice cool breeze from the Ocean in the evenings. We recommend your stylish wine country festival wear to include layers.

1. Is only Mezcal served?
a. NO, other Agave Spirits like Tequila, Sotol, Raicilla can and may be served by our Brand Partners.
b. Additionally, other spirits may be presented by sponsors/Celebrity Bartenders.
2. Are children allowed?
a. Because of the nature of the Festival children are not allowed.
3. How much food will be available?
a. At least 9 Celebrity Chefs will be serving food for the duration of the festival in 2 hour long showcases.
